All About Waterless Urinal Cartridges

Waterless urinal cartridges are unfamiliar to a lot of people, but for those who are on the leading edge of toilet technology, you'd know more about them and believe they're the next stage in sanitation technology.

As the name implies, waterless urinals don't need to be flushed with water, the urine goes directly to a cartridge below the urinal. You might be wondering why a waterless toilet system needs cartridges.

The cartridge actually has several functions. One, it acts as a funnel tat allows the liquid to flow from bowl to the deep end of the cartridge. Second, the cartridge hold a sealant type of liquid, and when urine gets into the cartridge, the this sealant liquid creates a barrier between the open air and the liquid waste, this eliminating any odors. Third, the cartridge, filters the uric sediment so that it doesn't corrode any pipes. Fourth, the cartridges stores the liquid so that it can be flushed down the drain.

There are actually many types of waterless urinal cartridges out there, each of which reflect the type of urinal it supports.
The thing with cartridges is that they are not built to last forever. Most of them are only built last 7,000 uses, after which you need to replace them.

About Waterless Urinal Cartridges

Don't worry, however, because waterless urinal cartridges are not that expensive at all. We searched on Amazon and found that the cost range from $36 to $62. Waterfree urinals, on the other hand, cost over $300 on the average.

If you would like to replace your current urinal system, you can and should. Why? For one thing, being waterless means that you don't need to pay so much in water bills. Plus you don't need to worry about eroding pipes because the cartridges in these systems are proven to trap uric sediments.

Just like anything else in the world, there are many brands of waterless urinals out there. And it's important to note that not all of them are created alike, and some are really better than others.
What you want to do is to install only the best brands for your needs. But how do you identify the better brands?

It's easy enough to do this. Just go to Amazon and search for “waterless urinal”. You should be able to see several brands in one page. Go to each product page and check out two things: the star ratings and the customer reviews.

In order for a product system to be worth your time, it should have a star ratings of at least four stars. As for the customer ratings, while you can't expect all reviews to be positive, the negative reviews should have nothing to do with quality of the product itself.

As we said before, a waterless urinal system is worth around $300. If you think that's expensive, we really think it's just the right price. But feel free to search at other online retailers. In fact, we encourage you to do it and do some comparison shopping.
